The Material

An exterior coating is no good without adhesion. It must adhere to the wall efficiently which is where most conventional renders and finishes fail. Protec's adhesion is exceptional – it doesn't just cover the surface of a wall it becomes part of it.

Protec is an effective wall coating because of its flexibility. It allows Protec to withstand conditions that would simply crack, flake or peel alternative wall coatings .The flexibility of protec is derived from the high resin content while the strength comes from the mineral fibre. Six other ingredients such as perlite, mica and titanium give protec its characteristic texture, insulative properties and long term durability.

Even a perfectly dry house has water vapour in the walls. If this moisture gets sealed inside permanently, damp and condensation can result within the building. Protect exterior coating allows water vapour to escape and buildings to "breath" freely while remaining completely waterproof preventing penetrating damp.

Protec is designed to harden slowly over a period of up to 12 weeks – this is an integral part of the long term toughness and flexibility of the material. Protec darkens very slightly during the curing and the true colour will therefore take some weeks to emerge, the colour can be patchy during this process. The slow curing is key to achieving the flexibility that makes protec so effective.

Protec insulates against the effects of cold weather by keep walls dry, it is especially effective on solid walls where drying out the walls will greatly improve their insulation qualities and reduce condensation on the walls. Protec will not chip, flake or peel and will transform your house adding value and enhancing its appearance with that "just decorated" look.
